Job Description:

The imec IC division supports companies and academia with services that cover the entire semiconductor value chain. The department Electronic Assembly (EA) focuses on supporting the industry and imec's research in the development of Electronic Assemblies. Besides industrial services, EA as industrialization group supports the research of different imec groups in the domain of health care, wireless and smart (energy) systems, flexible electronics, etc. The EA department runs the ‘center for Electronics Design & Manufacturing (cEDM)’ and supports a network of more than 140 companies from the electronics industry. These will be your main tasks: - You translate customer requirements into system requirements and system architecture. Your experience and creativity allow you to come up with efficient solutions. - You are responsible for the development of the electronics, from the system design, over the different design phases, to prototype and production phase. - Your tasks consist of: components selection, electrical calculations, schematics drawing, layout, lab measurements and prototype debugging - You work intensely together with the other members of the project team to realize the product. - For those PCB layouts that we decide to outsource, you will work together with external contractors, and control the progress of the layout activities. - You have regular contacts with R&D teams and/or suppliers.

Requirements:

You have a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering. You have more than 5 years of PCB design experience: analog and high speed digital hardware design preferably with the focus on analog design, low noise, Signal Integrity, high speed data, ... Knowledge of PBA/PCB manufacturing is a strong plus. You have experience with CAD development SW, knowledge of Altium Designer is a plus. You are familiar with using lab equipment (scope, ...). Knowledge of the Application Specific IC development process is a plus. You work precisely and independently to achieve a high quality ‘Right First Time’ product. You can work in an international team, you are result-driven and customer-oriented. You have good communication skills and speak/write English fluently. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
