Employment Start Date: Flexible/to be discussed

Organization Description:
The Institut Català de Nanotecnologia ( is a non-profit research institute, founded in July 2003 by the Catalan Government and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), who are its patrons. ICN’s focus is excellence in research on nanoscience and nanotechnology. The postdoctoral scientist will play a central role in achieving these goals. The applicant will work on the synthesis and electronic and electromechanical characterization of nanostructures with built-in strain gradients. The fabrication will involve some form of nanostructuration, either by bottom-up (growth) techniques or top-down (lithography) approaches. The familiarity with and liking for different nanofabrication methods and thin film deposition (sputtering or PLD techniques) is therefore important, as is the willingness and skill to get involved in the setting up of the experimental facilities.
