Job description You are responsible for the management of the Bonding & Assembly team, a multicultural team consisting of researchers and process engineers. This job offers an exciting combination of advanced R&D activities on bonding, assembly, grinding and dicing and people management. The Bonding & Assembly team is part of the Electroplating, CMP, Assembly & Thinning group (ECAT), which is responsible for developing a variety of processes requested by the process integration departments running imec’s CORE and CMORE programs.
Furthermore, you work in close collaboration with the fab process engineering and operations teams.
Your tasks include:
Timely execution, follow-up and steering of your team objectives to provide the process R&D for the research and development programs in which the teams’ expertise is required.
Together with experts in the field of bonding, assembly and thinning you define a clear strategy and translate the strategy into concrete operational objectives. You define team objectives into specific milestones and planning for the team members.
Drive and define Joint Development Program activities for new tool sets, new materials, new metrology tools and methodologies.
Set the right priorities in order to ensure high quality process development and follow-up on work progress and planning in order to reach the milestones.
Facilitate existing research activities and stimulate new initiatives.
Coach and motivate team members, using the company’s HR tools and guidelines.
Organize communication in order to inform the programs on the progress and problem areas.
Follow-up on new technology trends and guarantee the readiness of the team for next generation technology nodes at any time.
You have a PhD (or Master with equivalent experience) in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or Engineering and a passion for high-level modern science and technology.
You have experience with people management.
You have a background in the field of bonding and assembly.
You are a leader, ready to take up the challenge of reaching the ambitious team objectives.
Proficient communication and reporting skills.
Given the international character of imec, a fluent knowledge of English is necessary.
