Member of Technical Staff: Materials Characterization SEM

The client base largely but not exclusively specializes in intellectual property protection activities. NanoSpective is seeking enthusiastic, disciplined and innovative applicants for full time staff positions as a scanning electron microscopist. The selectee will join the NanoSpective team working within a rigorous culture in a fast paced setting. This position requires meticulous attention to detail. Safety is paramount. Job duties will include but are not limited to: disassembly and optical documentation of a range of devices; mechanical sectioning; polishing, etching and general preparation of specimens for subsequent analysis; operation of light optical, scanning electron, and focused ion beam microscopes; reduction and analysis of data; potential operation of other advanced analytical instruments and consultation with clients. It is possible that occasional travel to analytical facilities outside of the Orlando area may be necessary. Must be available for shift work.

B.S. in materials science, physics, chemistry or similar science or engineering discipline is desired
Strong foundation and industry experience in advanced materials characterization techniques, e.g., optical, electron and ion microscopies, spectroscopic techniques with special emphasis on scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction and microanalysis (EDS) is required
Significant industry experience with specimen preparation techniques for microelectronics, e.g., focused ion beam, mechanical sectioning, polishing, ion milling, microtome, etc. is required
Very good computer aptitude/exceptional ability to learn new software, e.g., Digital Micrograph, ES Vision, Adobe Photoshop, Excel, OriginPro, etc
High level of technical document writing competency
Familiarity with microelectronic and photonic devices is required
