Job Description:

Imec enjoys a world-class reputation in integrated circuit and system design and in technology development. Combining these skills, imec develops specialty image sensor products using its own proprietary technology. You will drive, co-define and implement the prototype validation and characterization, you will be the day-to-day technical interface to production test and qualification. You will work in close interaction with the customer and the design teams.
You will:  

- test, characterize and validate the electrical and some optical performance of image sensors in our laboratories;

- define, build and validate test setups for characterization;

- collaborate with specialists from other cross-disciplinary teams;

- communicate with production test and product qualification houses;

- support customers that use our sensors.

Moreover, you will work in an ecosystem of knowledge in high-tech state-of-the-art electronics, in a world-renowned R&D company. Imec holds 2000 people of staff working on advanced technology development and system design, in a wide spectrum of topics including analog circuit design, material and technology development, radio communication, bio-medical applications, MEMS systems, image sensors, optical communication, flexible electronics, solar cells, power electronics...


You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics.
You have at least 3-5 years of characterization experience, or show an equivalent excellent proficiency. You have experience with the design of printed circuit boards. Experience in the field of image sensors and experience in an industrial context or experience with digital (e.g. microcontrollers, FPGAs/VHDL) are a plus.
You are strong in automating a test set-up, using programming languages such as Matlab, C/C++ or Python, or good in picking up these languages.
You have strong electrical insight, understand aspects such as coupling, parasitic effects, bandwidth, resolution and noise. 
You can interpret device datasheets and equipment manuals, and define appropriate setups based on this, with assistance of the design teams.
You are well organized, and methodological, result driven and focused on customer satisfaction
You have a natural desire to analyze and solve problems and you are self-critical. 
You are a good team player, able to pursue and find compromise, communicating and reporting well.
The international character of imec requires that you are able to express yourself fluently in English.
