In the framework of its CMORE offering, imec will offer beyond state-of-the-art imager solutions for high-end applications such as e.g. space. Building on the imec 0.13µm CMOS process platform, dedicated extensions in terms of both process and design will enable high performance imagers. In order to strengthen our activities on these new imager concepts (such as embedded CCD in CMOS, backside illuminated imagers, ...) we are looking for a pixel design engineer for imagers.
You will be responsible for developing advanced CMOS image sensor pixel technology for the imec imager activities. In practice, you will be developing new pixel technology, new pixel layout and process design, for next generation CMOS Sensors by studying the performance of various experimental layouts and process conditions. That task requires experience in pixel device physics simulation, pixel design, chip layout and standard CMOS technology process optimization. Together with the other pixel device designers you will be dealing with the development of custom image sensors and the evaluation of new processes and materials using the imec process platform. Finally, you will be involved in the functional testing and characterization of the image sensor devices.
You have a PhD in Microelectronics or Physics.
You have demonstrated experience in the field of imagers, in particular pixel design, sensor development and/or Analog/Mixed-Signal design.
You have experience with design of custom CMOS Image Sensors and new imager concepts.
You have good knowledge of CMOS process flows, design rules, and layout design.
You have a good background in solid-state electronic devices, including TCAD simulations.
You understand the technical interactions between process and device performances.
You have good communication skills since you will work in a multicultural team of imec researchers, PhD students and industrial researchers.
Given the international character of imec, a good knowledge of English is mandatory.
You are a team player with good networking skills. You also possess good reporting skills.
