This is an exciting opportunity in our research laboratory.
You will be part of a team that is developing novel biosensors, based on innovative nanobiosensing and bioconjugation technologies.
You will plan, design and perform research on our main biosensing projects, and the new projects that will come about it.
You will probably have a Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering PhD (or related Chemistry or Biology field; or an equivalent combination of education/experience), with 2-5 years experience in a postdoctoral research-related occupation (industrial environment will be a plus).
You will have knowledge of the most important biosensing techniques, basically strong experience in optical and electrochemical biosensors and their final applications in different fields, such as clinical diagnosis and biomedicine, pharmaceutical and drug analysis, environmental monitoring, genetic analysis, production and analysis control in agro food industries, microbiology, veterinary, etc.
Experience in chemistry, bioconjugation, surface immobilization, chemical modification of biomolecules, development of immunoreagents and/or nanoparticle-based assays, and particle characterization will be a plus. Knowledge of labeling techniques is highly desirable.
Hands-on attitude and an innovative approach to problem solving.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams are essential.
Creative and energetic professional who can work in a multidisciplinary environment using chemical approaches to design and develop chemistry and conjugation methods.
Excellent written and oral communication skills will complete the profile. An eagerness to develop new technologies and the confidence to operate outside your comfort zone will be essential qualities.
You must also show a high level of initiative and commitment.
