Job Description:

The imec Smart System technology unit focus on developing systems and solutions in the areas of high end imaging, specialty detectors, MEMS, sensors for various biomedical applications, GaN and photonics applications. Within this unit, you will be part of the Silicon process technology department providing Si technology solutions, on 200mm and 300mm Si wafers to realize the above system applications.

You will be part of a team of Senior Process Integration Engineers with the following main responsibilities:

  • Translating customer requests into Si prototypes by creating an executable and manufacturable process flow based on a combination of new concepts as well as existing process technologies (eg:  CMOS, High Voltage, CIS, Bio Photonics, MEMS, 3D).
  • Interacting with external customers to understand product specifications and translating them into wafer process technology and making a technical project proposal including process details,
  • Working with cross functional teams (design, test, process) in clearing all the process technology roadblocks to finally arrive at a technical proposal approved by the technical management team.
  • Leading the project executions until its completion. Interacting on a daily base with process engineers and process assistant, with process development and support engineers. Providing innovative solutions to process integration related problems. Accommodate new requests from customers.
  • Developing and implementing new concepts and ideas to solve problems. Thinking towards a manufacturable process flow.
  • Weekly reporting of projects status to the internal CMORE technology coordination meeting and to the external customers.

  • You are an enthusiastic and creative team player with a degree in engineering or applied science.
  • You have a PhD or Master of Science in physics, chemical, electronic engineering or equivalent through experience. 
  • You have 3-5 years of solid experience as an integration engineer in a semiconductor environment. Relevant industrial experience in an asset.
  • You have a sound background in solid-state device physics and state-of-the-art process technology.
  • A good knowledge of CMOS processing is required for you to set up and improve the integration process.
  • You have experience in project management, planning, reporting and presenting technical results.
  • You like working in a competitive and multicultural team, communicate well and take pride in operational excellence and achieving results with impact.
  • Fluency in English is a must in imec’s international working environment.
  • You are able to work under pressure in order to meet the deliverables on time.
