At present we hold a position in our Unit Process & Module Department for a (m/f) Senior Etch Process Engineer and Technical Lead.

This position, as Senior Etch Process Engineer and Technical Lead, requires a strong technical background in the area of Etch process development for leading edge technology like N7 or STTRAM. The Senior Etch Process Engineer leads Etch process development in several programs and is in charge of Joined Development Programs with different suppliers. The overall responsibility is to deliver in a timely & efficient manner Etch process solutions for different programs. In day-to-day operations, you are supported by the operational services provided within the organization.
Technical expertise in different Etch area will help to define strategy to develop Etch process required in the new technologies in development. An industry experience will help to implement methodology in order to develop robust Etch process. Hand on experience is also required in order to work directly on the tools to understand interaction between hardware and process and set-up the right characterization for process in development and tool monitoring. Ability to translate goals into specific milestones and to set right priorities in order to ensure high quality R&D is mandatory. The follow up on work progress and planning in order to reach those milestones is also requested. Communication skills are essential to report inside and outside the group in order to inform the programs and other organizations on progress and problem areas.
Finally you establish a proper network within university and with imec partners, with a special focus on the vital relationship with different Etch suppliers.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Providing technical Etch solution to projects and processes in research and development.
- Implementing methodology to ensure process robustness & process control.
- Supporting strategy for Etch process development.
- Executing & reporting on Joint Development Program with suppliers.
- Reporting on Etch process progress towards partners.
- Writing papers, patents and extending network.
- You have a PhD (or a Master degree with equivalent experience) in Science or Applied Science.
- Your technical expertise and at least 10-15 years of industrial experience in Etch process development.
- You are an enthusiastic person willing to take up the challenge of reaching the ambitious objectives.
- You have excellent planning and organizational skills.
- You have efficient communication and reporting competences.
- Fluency in English is required as this is an international environment.
