Nanotechnology Degree Programs in India

The program imparts several courses in Material Science, Thermodynamics, Mathematical physics, Quantum Physics, Nanochemistry initially. Later on, it provides the basic aspects of Instrumentation techniques and the advanced courses such as Thin Film Technology and Nanophotonics. At the end of programe, the students are expected to do a well-qualified project. This program is intended to enable the students' interests and provide the basic research activities for deeper insights in both theoretical and experimental aspects.

University of Mumbai announces the introduction of M. Phil. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology to thosestudents who desire experimental skills and experience. This course will provide hands on experience in all aspects of nano fabrication and characterization tools with a newly designed class 100 to 10,000 clean room facility.

Ten Semester (Five year) Integrated Dual degree Master of Technology course in the four streams of Converging Technologies. The Master's programme will have two years of common curriculum in all fields of basic science, and engineering. The third year course involves training in all streams of converging technologies. The last two years of education will be fully customizable in specialized domains in the streams of converging technologies.

The primary aim of establishing the Centre for Converging Technologies (CCT) is to produce high quality research in the four streams of Nanotechnology, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, Information and Communication Technology, Cognitive & Neuroscience so as to create new scientific methodologies, engineering paradigms, and industrial products. The focus will be on key areas relevant to the desired rapid growth of the Indian economy.

Objective of the degree is to create a strong research focus, with high achieving students, working in state-of-the-art research laboratories equipped with world class fabrication and characterisation resources.
