The Materials Science and Nanotechnology graduate program has started accepting applications. Students from departments of materials science, physics, electronics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, genetics, pharmacy, mechatronics, agriculture and textile can apply.
Nanofabrication manufacturing technology relates to the creation of microscopic structures. This technology is the basis of such diverse areas as computer chip manufacturing, flat panel displays and large scale solar power arrays used in space exploration, biological implants, medicine and pharmaceuticals. Rapid growth in these industries has created a strong demand for technicians with training in the intricacies of nanofabrication techniques and clean room procedures. Students enrolling in either program will spend three semesters on BCCC campus and the final capstone semester on Penn State campus.

In partnership with the International Association of Nanotechnology, the Institute has received funding by a grant from United States Department of Labor to develop curriculum and provide technical training programs to business executives, professional managers and dislocated workers in nanotechnology.
Your program will include three semesters at CVTC, where you'll have a rare opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in specially designed facilities, such as the atomic force and scanning electron microscopes and Class 100 cleanroom. Your fourth semester will be a capstone experience at CVTC and another area institution. You'll also complete an internship to gain workplace experience.
Nanotechnology Minor program at Clarion University's Physics Department.
This program prepares students for careers in the nanobiotech, nanomaterials and nanoelectronics industries. Offered through a partnership with the University of Minnesota, the program gives graduates the skills and knowledge to land jobs in companies and corporations applying nanotechnology to product development, testing, research and development, and manufacturing design.
The graduate program is designed to address the need for an interdisciplinary graduate education at Duke in Nanoscience that extends beyond the traditional disciplines and skills that are taught within any existing department.
Students will develop the capacity to understand the basic scientific concepts underpinning nanoscience and the properties of materials and biomaterials at the atomic/molecular level and the scaling laws governing these properties. They will understand current frontier developments in nanotechnology, and recognise and develop novel and innovative ideas using a range of laboratory methods, specifically the fabrication and characterisation tools used in nanotechnology such as various microscopies, surface modifications and molecular level construction methods.
The Mason Nanotechnology Forum has developed a Graduate Certificate in Nanotechnology and Nanoscience to address the need for qualified professionals in these critical areas. The Mason NANO graduate certificate is composed of five courses (15 credit hours) focusing on two key areas of knowledge: (1) nanomaterials and nanostructures and their relation to bulk materials, and (2) methods for characterization and production of nanomaterials.
This fellowship program - NanoTRAINForGrowth - is co-financed by the European Union through the Marie Curie Action 'Co-funding of regional, national and international programs (COFUND)'. Therefore, each selected applicant will be a Marie Curie fellow as well as a NanoTRAINForGrowth fellow.
The Nanotechnology / Science double degree program aims to provide students with a broad education in disciplines that will underpin the science and technology, in particular nanotechnology.
To meet the rapidly growing interest of students in nano, and to create the nano workforce of the future, Maryland NanoCenter offers an innovative undergraduate program, the Interdisciplinary Minor Program in Nanoscale Science and Technology, drawing faculty and courses from multiple departments of the A. James Clark School of Engineering, the College of Computer, Math, and Physical Sciences, and the College of Chemical and Life Sciences. The program is open to any student majoring in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
The Graduate Certificate in Nanotechnology recognizes advanced study of scientific, technological, and engineering topics in nanotechnology, including aspects of 1) characterization; 2) micro- to nano-scale fabrication and control; and 3) devices, systems and integration. The certificate also requires study of the societal and ethical implications of emerging technologies.
The minor in Nanoscale Science and Engineering (Nanotechnology) is deliberately designed to introduce students to the basic issues and overall scope of this field, encourage students to pursue interdisciplinary coursework outside their major, develop an understanding of the importance of flexibility in terms of careers, research, and education, and be flexible to allow for participation by students in diverse majors.
The Graduate Diploma in Nanoscience program is available to graduate students who wish to upgrade their degree to include a specialisation in the newly developing field of Nanoscience. It provides both a theoretical background as well as practical experience which is gained from completing a major project.
The minor programme in Nanoscience is offered by the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science.
The Nanoscience Technology program is a collaborative effort between North Dakota State College of Science and Minnesota State Community and Technical College-Moorhead. Students may enroll and earn a degree through either college.
Cross disciplinary in nature, the AAS-T degree combines elements of materials science, chemistry, biology and physics, electronics and engineering. Students will be exposed to clean room procedures including an understanding and maintenance of nano/micro fabrication and characterization equipment.
The two year program will provide graduates with the skills to operate systems and equipment associated with Canada's emerging nanotechnology industry and lead to a Diploma in Nanotechnology Systems.
Graduates who receive the Associate in Applied Science degree from OSU Institute of Technology in Nanoscientific instrumentation will be prepared for a career in such wide-ranging fields as aerospace, explosive detection and protection, manufacturing, biosystems, instrumentation, energy conservation, and agriculture.
The Nanotechnology minor is designed to help prepare students from diverse disciplines for careers in a broad range of industries innovating with nanotechnology. The minor builds on the singular strengths of Penn State's nanofabrication facilities including its class 1 and class 10 clean rooms, its faculty, and existing academic programs. The minor provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in simulation, design, modeling, syntheses, characterization, properties, processing, manufacturing, and applications at the nano scale.

The mission of the Nanoscale Materials Technology program is to provide students a foundation in materials science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and electronics. With strong supporting courses in Computer Aided Drafting, Vacuum Science and Technology, and Thin Film Deposition Techniques, students will be prepared for employment as highly qualified technicians in the emerging and highly technical semiconductor and superconductor manufacturing and research and development field.
