A Matter of Size: Triennial Review of the National Nanotechnology Initiative (2006)
Source: National Materials Advisory Board – Publication date: 2006
Requested by Congress, this report of the National Research Council's Committee to Review the National Nanotechnology Initiative is an evaluation of the NNI that also considers the current economic impact of nanotechnology and benchmarks the international standing of U.S. nanoscale research and development. In addition, the report addresses the responsible development of nanotechnology and comments on the feasibility of molecular self-assembly for manufacturing.

Big Picture on Nanoscience
Source: Wellcome Trust – Publication date: June 2005
From nano-hype to nano-nonsense, this issue in the Wellcome Trust's 'Big Picture' series sifts sense from speculation: What are nanotechnologies and what might they do for us? What (if anything) do we need to worry about? How are potential benefits weighed against possible downsides? What role should the public play in the process of nano development?

Bottom Up Nanomachines
Source: European Community Information Society Technologies Programme – Publication date: November 2003
The research summarized in this final report is the result of 3.5 years of work of a consortium of seven laboratories best in chemistry, nanotechnologies, atomic and molecular manipulation, UHV-STM, UHV-AFM, surface science and computer circuit architecture. The objective of BUN was to establish new sciences and technologies at the nanoscale for the fabrication of a calculator with a minimum number of molecule and ideally with only one, integrating all the function inside this single molecule.

Engines of Creation 2.0: The Coming Era of Nanotechnology
Source: Wowio – Publication date: February 2007
Originally published in 1986, K. Eric Drexler's Engines of Creation laid the theoretical foundation for the modern field of nanotechnology and articulated the amazing possibilities and dangers associated with engineering at the molecular scale. Unique for both its style and substance, the book is today recognized as the seminal work in nanotechnology and has earned Drexler the title of "Father of Nanotechnology."

GENNESYS White Paper
Source: GENNESYS – Publication date: February 2009
GENNESYS is a foresight project to roadmap the future research needs and to pinpoint the various scientific challenges and technological limitations in the various areas in nanomaterials research. The GENNESYS White Paper is the result of a several year-long collaborative work of more than 600 experts from all over the world and gives an overall picture of the present and future developments in the large spectrum of nanomaterials

Introductory Guide to Nanometrology
Source: Co-Nanomet – Publication date: April 2011
This Guide introduces the reader to the science of measurements at the nanoscale, that is nanometrology. It is aimed at researchers in the nanotechnology area, for whom the metrology aspect is new, and at metrologists, interested in knowing about the specifics of metrology at the nanoscale. The Guide does not give an exhaustive review of the field. Rather it is intended to increase the general awareness of nanometrology, and its basic challenges.

Know your nano!
Source: TA Swiss – Publication date: August 2006
An information brochure from TA Swiss, Switzerland's Center for Technology Assessment as part of the Center's project on recording public opinion towards nanotechnologies.

MONA Nanophotonics Technology roadmap
Source: MONA project – Publication date: December 2007
The MONA project (Merging Optics and Nanotechnologies) has been launched in June 2005 by the European Commission in order to bridge the gap between photonics and nanotechnologies. The ultimate objective of the project has been the development of a European roadmap for photonics and nanotechnologies.
