(Nanowerk News) The John J. Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values at the University of Notre Dame seeks candidates for a position as a Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) or Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in the field of Nanotechnology Ethics and Policy. The term of the position is three years. The RAP position is renewable contingent on research productivity and grant-writing ability.

The Reilly Center collaborates with The Notre Dame Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NDnano) to examine the ethical and policy aspects of cutting-edge research in nanotechnology. The PDF or RAP will be an active participant in the NDnano program along with other nanotechnology initiatives at Notre Dame. She or he will conduct both individual research collaborative research with the NDnano investigators in accordance with her or his interests and expertise. She or he will also actively participate in programs and events sponsored by the Reilly Center in nanotechnology ethics and policy.

During the first year there will be no teaching requirement or expectation. After the first year the PDF or RAP may be expected to teach a maximum of one course per semester, depending on her or his research agenda and grant activity.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a relevant field and a publication record in ethics or policy issues in nanotechnology or other new and emerging technologies (RAP) or promise of such (PDF). Salaries for both positions are competitive.
