Visual Photonics Epitaxy Adds Two More AIXTRON MOCVD Tools for Production Capacity Increase
(Nanowerk News) AIXTRON AG announced today that in the second
quarter 2009 Visual Photonics Epitaxy Co., Ltd (VPEC) placed an order for two
AIX 2600G3 IC MOCVD reactors. They will be delivered in the first quarter 2010 and
installed at the company's state-of-the-art production facility in Ping-Jen City, Taoyuan,
Taiwan.
Vice President of VPEC, Neil Chen, comments: "We already have a number of AIXTRON
mass production MOCVD systems in operation for the high volume manufacture of
optoelectronic and microwave epiwafers. Due to exceptional demand from our customers we
must further expand production capacity. We have operated AIXTRON systems for over ten
years and so it was a straightforward decision to return to AIXTRON. For VPEC AIXTRON's
service provides the perfect combination of process technology, throughput, uptime and
responsive local support."
Visual Photonics Epitaxy Co. Ltd., a semiconductor epitaxial wafers pure play foundry was
founded on November 26, 1996. Its principal products are HBT, PHEMT and PIN including
Zn diffusion ready and customized structure epitaxial wafers for wireless and optical fiber
communications. VPEC’s revenues were 142M (NTD) in May 2009 overtaking the revenues
reported before the economic downturn in 2008. The company reported a revenue increase
to 177M (NTD) for June 2009.
