Opening day line-up of NanoBusiness 2009 conference

(Nanowerk News) The NanoBusiness Alliance today announced its Opening Day line-up and industry luminaries for its 8th annual NanoBusiness 2009 conference and exhibition. Tuesday’s line-up also has a special track designed for companies interested in wading into nanotechnology for the first time and those who want to engage with world-leading local research institutions who will be participating in the conference. NanoBusiness 2009 is being held next week from September 8-10 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
During Tuesday’s events, six World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers will speak and several others will be in attendance. Tuesday conference program includes:
  • Nano101: Prof. Mark Hersam, Northwestern University
  • Nanotechnology Education: Bob Chang, Director, National Center for Nanoscale Learning and Teaching, Northwestern University
  • Workforce Development: Tom Levesque, NanoInk
  • Vocational Training and Mentorship: Lesley Hamming, NanoBusiness Talent Program, NanoBusiness Alliance
  • Leveraging Regional User Facilities: Derrick Mancini of Argonne National Labs; Prof. Rashid Bashir, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
  • Working with Universities: David Gulley, Vice Chancellor of Research, University Illinois Chicago; Alan Hauser, Northwestern University; Alan Dines, University of Wisconsin Madison
  • Leverage and Growth Successes from State Investments and How It’s Done : Skip Rung, ONAMI and the new NSF Center for Green Materials Chemistry; Jim Mason, Oklahoma Nanotechnology Initiative (ONI); Anthony Green , The Nanotech Institute (NTI)
