Sberbank and RUSNANO sign agreement on nanotechnology loans

(Nanowerk News) The Russian Corporation for Nanotechnologies and Sberbank signed the agreement aimed at coordinating the efforts for ensuring development of innovation infrastructure in the Russian Federation in the field of nanotechnologies, implementation of national projects for creating promising nanotechnologies and nanoindustry. The memorandum was signed as a part of the Second Nanotechnology International Forum opened today in Moscow.

The Agreement was signed by German Gref, Sberbank’s President, Chairman of the Board and RUSNANO’s Director General Anatoly Chubais.
Under the agreement, Sberbank will consider possibilities of lending money for projects in the field of nanotechnologies with Corporate involvement, as well as offering structured credit products amounting up to 10 bln rubles for up to seven years. Also, Sberbank will consider possibilities of financing project companies which import equipment under the guarantees of export-credit agencies, in the amount of up to 5 bln rubles with RUSNANO’s commitment, and assisting with leasing of equipment via JSC "RG Leasing" up to 15 bln rubles for projects funded by Corporation and with Corporate financial commitment. Also, Sberbank will evaluate the possible amount of investment from "Sberbank Capital" LLC into the chartered capital of project companies totaling up to 5 bln rubles.
The Corporation, for its part, will evaluate the nanotechnological projects being realized by bank clients for the chance of financing, taking share or receving the financial warranties from RUSNANO.
Cooperation will be facilitated by a working group. The working group will be headed by Mikhail Chuchkevich, RUSNANO Project Office Director and Andrey Bazarov, Vice-President of Sberbank, Director of Major Clients Relationship Department.
