Zyvex Performance Materials Launch Line of Nano-Enhanced Aerospace Adhesives
(Nanowerk News) Zyvex Performance Materials (ZPM), the world leader in nanomaterials applications, officially launched their new line of two part epoxy adhesives, called Epovex Adhesive™. The new adhesive is designed to be a replacement for existing aerospace
grade adhesives. Laboratory tests have proven the superior T-Peel and shear strength of Epovex
Adhesives in composite to composite bonds, composite to metal bonds, and composite to wood
bonds.
This new line of adhesives is available in quart (3.5 lbs) and gallon (14 lbs) kits. For higher volume
and industrial customers, five gallon (72 lbs) and fifty-five gallon (720 lbs) kits are available. ZPM’s
US distributors will be also be offering Epovex Adhesives to their customers and new clients.
President Lance Criscuolo announced, “Epovex Adhesive is a second generation nano-enhanced
product. Not only does this adhesive offer superior performance, but our technology also helps
reduce costs.” He continued, “Companies that are using expensive aerospace grade adhesives
can now buy a better product that costs 30% less, and is backed with better service and
distribution.”
In independent testing against leading industry competitors, Epovex Adhesive demonstrated 50%
greater performance in T-Peel strength (ASTM D1876) and a 15% improvement in shear strength
(ASTM D1002).
“Our molecular-engineered products and technology are the solution to the roadblock of current
materials’ limitations,” said Product Development Engineer Fred Meyer. “By using Epovex
Adhesives, our customers will experience fewer secondary bond failures and save money at the
same time.”
