SouthWest NanoTechnologies To Feature Breakthrough Carbon Nanotube Ink Technology at MRS Meeting in Boston
(Nanowerk News) SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc., a leading developer of high quality carbon nanotubes, will be exhibiting at the 2009 Materials Research Society (MRS) Fall Meeting & Exhibit November 30 – December 4 (exhibit is just Dec. 1-3) -- Booth 802 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
The annual meeting serves as a key forum for the exchange of information across disciplines - with almost 6,000 papers in 50 topical symposia. In addition to the technical meeting, a large-scale exhibition will feature over 220 international exhibitors from all sectors of the global materials science and engineering industries.
SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc. (SWeNT) is a leading developer and manufacturer of Single-wall Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNT) and Specialty Multi-wall Carbon Nanotubes. Their new manufacturing facility, opened last year, increased SWCNT production capacity 100-fold at one-tenth the unit cost. Employing the low-cost CoMoCAT® process, high quality and the ability to tailor product properties is assured.
At this year’s exhibit, SWeNT will feature breakthrough CNT Ink technology, which allows low cost printing of conducting and semiconducting features on a roll-to-roll basis.
Single and Multi-wall Carbon Nanotubes consist of hollow cylinders of carbon with a diameter equal to approximately one nanometer – a billionth of a meter. Carbon nanotubes possess extraordinary optical and electronic properties, tremendous strength and flexibility, and high thermal and chemical stability. Today, carbon nanotubes are used in a wide range of applications in the automotive, aeronautics, electronics, displays, energy and healthcare markets.
About MRS
MRS is an international organization almost 16,000 materials researchers from academia, industry, and government and a recognized leader in promoting the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research to improve the quality of life. In addition to JMR, MRS publishes MRS Bulletin and the MRS Online Proceedings Library, and organizes high quality scientific meetings to facilitate interactions among a wide range of experts from the cutting edge of the global materials community. More information about the Materials Research Society can be found on its Web site, www.mrs.org.
About SWeNT
SouthWest NanoTechnologies (SWeNT) is a privately-held specialty chemical company that manufactures high quality single-wall and specialty multiwall carbon nanotubes for a range of products. SWeNT was created in 2001 to spin off nanotube research developed at the University of Oklahoma.
