National conference on nanomaterials and nanotechnology in India

(Nanowerk News) The Physics department of Lucknow University is organizing a three-days conference "2nd National Conference on Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology" between December 21 and 23. About 300 scientists from all over the country will be participating in the conference.
The aim of this conference is to hold open deliberations on the latest R&D in this exciting area. The conference will provide the first hand assessment of the existing challenges and their prospective solutions and help participants devise future strategies. The conference will provide a forum for academicians, researchers and students working on nanotechnology.
The topics being covered in the conference are as follows:
  • Synthesis of Nanomaterial
  • Characterization of Nanomaterials
  • Applications of Nanomaterials
  • Nanosensors
  • Solid State Sensors
  • Fullerenes and Carbon Nanotubes
  • Nanobiotechnology
  • Nanophotonics
  • Theoretical and Computational Aspects
  • The inaugural session, registration and cultural programmes will be held at Malviya Hall, Lucknow University, and technical sessions will be held in BP Pradhan auditorium of the physics department.
The scientists will deliver lectures on synthesis, characterisation and use of nano materials. The main speakers of the conference will be Prof Sabyasachi Sarkar and Prof HC Verma from IIT, Kanpur, Prof T Pal from IIT, Kharagpur, Prof ON Srivastava from BHU, Varanasi, Dr BR Chakraborty and Dr RK Kotnala from NPL, New Delhi, Prof LM Bali, former head of the department, LU and currently professor in Miami University, USA and Dr AN Singh, Gombe State University, Gombe (Nigeria).
