Victor Bykov has been elected new president of the Russian Society of Nanotechnology
(Nanowerk News) Director General of NT-MDT Co. Victor Bykov has been elected the 3rd president of Russian Society of Nanotechnology.
Russian Society of Nanotechnology held the 2nd annual Conference. The theme of the Conference was "Prospects for the development of nano-, bio-, information and cognitive technologies as a major scientific breakthrough in the sixth tenor of technology in Russia".
Victor Bykov is new President of Russian Society of Nanotechnology.
Conference took place in Russian scientific center Kurchatov Institute in Moscow on the 14-15th of October. The main purpose of the Conference was the convocation of the members of Russian Society of Nanotechnology to resume the annual activities of the Society, to discuss the results and prospects for further development.
Welcoming words from delegates of Russian Government, RUSNANO, Nuclear Society, Russian Academy of Science and Kurchatov Institute opened the Conference.
Representatives of Russian Society of Nanotechnology made their reports. After that there was the round table discussion "Nanobiosafety", youth branch session and poster session. Kurchatov Institute organized visits to its research center and to Kurchatov Institute Museum.
The most important point of the Conference became Organizational session of Russian Society of Nanotechnology. A lot of regulation questions were solved. During the Organizational session Director General of NT-MDT Co. Victor Bykov was elected President of the Russian Society of Nanotechnology for 2010-2011.
Victor Bykov is a Doctor of Engineering and professor of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology;
laureate of the Award of the Russian Federation Government in the field of science and engineering (2004);
author and coauthor of more than 160 papers, including 60 invention application and patents;
organizer and President of Russian Society of Scanning Probe Microscopy;
Chairman of Guild of high-tech enterprises of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
one of coauthors and leaders of Russian State programme "Molecular electronics",
Leader of the project "Molecular nanotechnology".
In 1989 Dr. Bykov organized and headed NT-MDT Co., which specializes in research and development of the
equipment for nanotechnology needs. Nowadays NT-MDT Co. is the Russian leader in the field of high-tech development.
Over the 20-years period NT-MDT products have evolved from scanning probe microscope to up-to-date
unique multifunctional equipment - automated ultrahigh vacuum facilities. NT-MDT has been creating
the equipment for nanotechnology researches since 1992, steadily holding the advanced positions regarding
the quality standards/hi-tech developments/original technical solutions.
