NanoMission Japan 2011 - UK SMEs invited to apply for grants

(Nanowerk News) Applications are now invited from UK companies to participate in NanoMission Japan 2011 which will allow companies the opportunity to participate in the major international event Nano Tech Japan 2011 held annually in Tokyo. The Exhibition will run from 16th-18th February 2011.
NanoMission Japan 2011 mission delegates may be eligible for a travel grant of up to 500 towards the cost of attending this event.
Organised by the International NanoMicroClub (INMC), a joint initiative between the Institute of Nanotechnology and the NanoKTN, this mission will provide unique opportunities to develop business in Electronics, Sensors and Instrumentation, Materials and Cleantech, as well as:
  • Assist companies in promoting company literature at the conference
  • Assist with 50% of your travel and subsistence costs up to 500
  • Also the mission may include special visits and meetings (to be confirmed).
  • Note that the closing date for applications is 10th December 2010. Visit http://www.nanomicroclub.com/ for details!
Also, applicants may also wish to apply for UKTI TAP grants for exhibition stands. This is a separate grant scheme that is not linked to the International NanoMicroClub (INMC), however interested parties are given the following recommendations about the UKTI TAP grant scheme:
    1. Any organisation considering exhibiting should send immediately a completed TAP application. This does not commit you to anything at this stage it will simply allow UKTI to confirm that should you exhibit then you will receive a grant of 1400.
    2. Once UKTI have confirmed eligibility and the grant then they shall give you five days to decide if you wish to exhibit. Each eligible participant would then be charged 1010 for a 3sqm contribution to the KTN stand under the UK pavilion.
    3. After the event you would receive a grant of 1400 from the UKTI TAP Scheme.
