Online Workshop: Nanotechnology for Solar Energy

(Nanowerk News) Despite its current elusiveness in many parts of the northern hemisphere, no-one can boycott the sun! Harnessing nanotechnology development for sustainable energy enables us to focus on energy security and move away from our dependence on an ever-depleting supply of fossil fuels from regions that are often destabilised through ownership of these resources.
Join us on 20th December at 9:30-12:00 GMT for a free webinar on 'Nanotechnology for Solar Energy'. Organised by MalschTechnoValuation for the ICPC Nanonet project, this online workshop will showcase the latest developments in this field and will enable nanoscientists and researchers specialising or interested in solar energy – from Europe and International Cooperation Partner Countries - to meet and find out about each other's research expertise and applications.
The invited speakers are Prof. Dr Aldo Di Carlo, Associate Professor, Head of the Opto&Nanoelectronics group (OLAB), Dept. Electronics Engineering, Univ. of Rome "Tor Vergata", Italy; Dr. Nadia Camaioni, Istituto CNR-ISOF, Bologna, Italy and Dr Daniel Ayuk Mbi Egbe, Linz Institute for Organic Solar Cells(LIOS), Physical Chemistry Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria.
Topics to be presented and discussed are 'Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy'; 'The Nanomorphology of Polymer Solar Cells'; and 'the Influence of alkoxy side groups on photovoltaic performance of PPE-PPV based materials'. There will be opportunity for discussion after each session.
