DIAMOND 2011 conference will focus on the fields of diamond, diamond-like compounds, carbon nanotubes, graphene and nitrides
(Nanowerk News) Elsevier announced today that DIAMOND 2011, 22nd European Conference on Diamond, Diamond-Like Materials, Carbon Nanotubes and Nitrides, will occur on 4-8 September 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany. The Elsevier organized conference discusses the significant improvements in material growth processes, material purity and doping of these materials over the past few years. The improvements have lead to the discovery of new phenomena in these materials as well as to novel device applications with increasingly impressive performance levels.
The conference is now accepting abstracts for oral and paper presentations in the topics of diamond, diamond-like carbon, carbon nanotubes, graphene, and III-nitrides: growth properties and applications. Abstract submissions should be made through the online abstract submission system at www.diamond-conference.elsevier.com. The deadline for abstract submission is March 3, 2011.
"Elsevier is very excited to be organizing DIAMOND 2011 in collaboration with the scientific community," said Allyn Molina, Elsevier Publisher. "Building on the success of last year's conference, the program will continue to bring a broad spectrum of speakers and topics that present the current state of diamond science."
"In 2011 we expect significant progress with respect to single crystalline diamond wafer production as well as quantum effects in diamond applied for quantum computing, cryptography and magnetic field sensing," commented Christoph Nebel, conference Chair and Professor at Fraunhofer Institut für Angewandt Festkörperphysik (IAF), Germany. "These topics are at the leading edge of semiconductor research, utilizing the unique properties of diamond for novel semiconductor applications of the near future and will be addressed at DIAMOND 2011."
