RUSNANO Project Company Connector Optics Unveils Its New Product Line Based on up to 40Gbit/s VCSELs
(Nanowerk News) Connector Optics LLC (St. Petersburg, Russia), a RUSNANO project company has announced the launch of the new product line based on ultra-high speed 850 nm vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) and photodetectors for data transmission via optical networks at speeds of 16, 28 and 40Gbit/s. The innovative products will be represented at the OFC/NFOEC exhibition, world's leading event for advancing optical solutions in Telecom, Datacom, ?omputing, that will take place in Los-Angeles, CA, USA, 8-10 March, 2011.
ŤOur VCSELs and photodetectors transmit data via optical networks at speeds of up to 40Gbit/s per channel and are a cost-effective solution. It is the record ratio in the world for today, - Leonid Karachinsky, CEO, Connector Optics, says. The products are aimed for use in fiber-optical networks of next generation, namely, active optical cables (AOCs) for computing systems, local area networks (LANs), storage area networks (SANs), and optical interconnects for the consumer market, such as USB, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
