Pittcon 2012 announces annual call for papers

(Nanowerk News) The Pittcon Program Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for Pittcon 2012, which will be held March 11-15, 2012, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. For full consideration, abstracts must be received by August 12, 2011.
The Program Committee is soliciting abstracts of original, previously unpublished findings in all areas of analytical chemistry, applied spectroscopy, life sciences, bioanalysis, and related disciplines such as, but not limited to: chromatography, electrochemistry, portable instruments, mass spectrometry, lab-on-a-chip, molecular spectroscopy, atomic spectroscopy, nanotechnology, biomedicine, neurochemistry, genomics, proteomics, forensics, informatics, pharmaceutical, metabolomics, environmental, polymer, and food science.
The review of abstracts will be completed by September 2011. Accepted papers will be grouped according to methodology or application as appropriate.
This year's Program Chair, Joseph Grabowski, commented, "In addition to its diversity and high-caliber presentations, approximately 40% of the 2012 program will feature sessions on life sciences." He further stated, "Orlando is the perfect venue for Pittcon. . .with the state's growing biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, Florida has become the new hub for life sciences."
