Cadence Focuses Industry on 20-nm Chip Design at Design Automation Conference
(Nanowerk News) Cadence Design Systems, Inc., a leader in global electronic design innovation, today outlined the technologies and steps required to move the industry to advanced node design, with a particular focus on 20-nanometer and 28-nanometer design, at the Design Automation Conference (DAC), being held June 5-9. Highlighting the need for collaboration among industry leaders -- a requirement for success at the 20-nanometer node -- Cadence® will host a panel today entitled, "Getting a Jumpstart on 20 Nanometers," with executives from ARM, Cadence, Samsung and ST Microelectronics. Cadence is also hosting invitation-only customer meetings to provide an advance look at the technologies it is developing to enable production-ready 20-nanometer designs.
"The move to 20 nanometers is happening faster than anyone predicted even two years ago, creating demand from our customers for a standard flow that can support this advanced design," said John Bruggeman, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Cadence. "Today's panel brings together companies that, like Cadence, are pushing technology boundaries and enabling customers to realize the cost and area benefits associated with moving to 20 nanometers."
Showcasing technology and products that deliver on the EDA360 vision, Cadence also will host a variety of demonstrations, sessions and tutorials at its DAC Booth #2237. The company will have live presentations and demonstrations of its low-power and mixed-signal Silicon Realization solutions; memory and interface IP SoC Realization solutions; and several System Realization solutions, including the recently announced Cadence System Development Suite, as well as the latest in verification IP (VIP).
Cadence is again hosting the EDA360 Theater in its booth, featuring 40 live customer and partner presentations from many of the industry's leading companies. In addition, Cadence executives and technology experts will participate in a variety of panels to discuss industry trends and technology advancements.
