The Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center (CINN) presents novel ultrastable materials at Nanotech 2012 Japan

(Nanowerk News) Within the stand of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the CINN will show its novel ultralow thermal expansion ceramics, one of the most promising results developed by the CINN in recent years, in the framework of the European Project IP NANOKER.
These materials, for which 4 patents have been already filed, are based on crystalline lithium aluminosilicates nanocomposites. The main assets of the CINN materials are the combination of a high dimensional stability in a wide range of temperatures (from cryogenic to 450ÂșC) with enhanced mechanical, electrical and thermal properties. Some of the fields in which these materials might be applied are: Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (particularly in masks, mirrors and wafer stages), Space and Earth Observation Systems (mirrors) and Concentrated Solar Power (receivers).
At Nanotech 2012, CINN aims to get in touch with companies interested in the exploitation of these patents.

About CINN
The Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center (CINN) is a joint research center established in 2007 by institutional initiative of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), The Government of the Principality of Asturias and the University of Oviedo.
The CINN combines a high-quality and internationally competitive interdisciplinary research with scientific and technological demonstration activities and has among its objectives the creation of new technology-based companies. In 2011, the CINN filed 3 new patents, licensed 4 other and launched a spin-off company.
