New website highlights European Competence Research Centers

(Nanowerk News) A new website linking together 350 Competence Research Centres (CRCs) from across Europe has been launched by the EU-funded COMPERA (National and Regional Programmes and Initiatives dedicated to the creation and support of Competence Research Centres) project.
One of the topics of CRCs that can be searched on the site is nanotechnology.
CRCs bring together partners from academia, industry and the public sector with the aim of bridging the gap between scientific and economic innovation. The goal of COMPERA is to support the exchange of experiences and ideas between existing CRC programmes and inspire their creation in countries and regions that are currently without them.
The new website features profiles of the 350 CRCs in 12 countries which are involved in the COMPERA project. Visitors to the site can search for CRCs by sector and by country. CRCs which are not yet on the site are invited to submit their details for inclusion. In addition to the CRC profiles, the site includes a news section, events calendar and funding information.
The project partners hope that this new initiative will raise awareness of the CRCs involved among a wider public and also support cooperation between CRCs and external actors.
