Liquidia Technologies Receives $2 Million Advanced Technology Award
(Nanowerk News) Liquidia Technologies has received a $2 million award from the Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Advanced Technology Program (ATP). The award supports innovative research and development projects across a range of technologies including medical diagnostics, alternative energy, transportation, and nanotechnology.
Liquidia received the award to develop and manufacture high-efficiency, cost-effective patterned thin film solar cells based on the company's breakthrough PRINT(TM) platform for precision nanomolding. The PRINT platform combines photolithographic precision with a scalable continuous manufacturing process to commercialize nano-structured films for novel light management. Liquidia is currently working with partners to improve light management efficiency across photovoltaic and display applications.
The NIST ATP award is part of $138 million in expected total funding for research projects led by companies under the ATP. Projects were selected based on scientific and technical merit, and potential national benefit of the technology.
