Russian Corporation of Nanotechnology and Intel Sign Development Agreement
(Nanowerk News) Today, within the framework of XII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnology (RCNT) and Intel have signed an agreement of intent in the field of the nanotechnology development. Leonid Melamed, RCNTís Director General, Craig Barrette, Intelís Chairman of Board of Directors, and Dmitriy Konash, Intelís Regional Director Russian & CIS, took part in the signing ceremony.
RCNT and Intel Corporation intent to effect mutual R&D of several projects. In particular it is planned to research and implement multiprocessing and polynuclear systems, software for modeling of nanomaterials, nanodevices and methods of their creation. Micro- and nanoelectronics prediscovery will be also held, including the development of new materials and technologies for producing integral schemes with norm of 45 nm at least.
Within the framework of the agreement parties will participate in the contests of innovational ideas and business plans. Perspective Russian companies will be able to use knowledge and experience of Intel in bringing into life the production of nanotechnologies and in the development of their business.
The signed agreement will become the basis for mutual work in the field of personnel training and re-training in the spheres of innovational management, technology commercialization and research management.
According to Leonid Melamed, ďIntel is one of the undoubted leaders of research, development and large-scale production in the field of microelectronics. Cooperation with Intel gives RCNT an opportunity to rely on solid basis of practical usage of the results of scientific developments.
ďOur company is aware of the importance and responsibility of the task of the nanoindustry development in Russia. By the moment deep scientific researches and serious technological and production development in the world are impossible without modern methods of researches based on mathematical modeling of processes and highly productive calculations that is one of the main instruments of the developments in the field of nanotechnologies. For realization of the difficult tasks in the field of nanotechnologies in Russia we are ready to use all our experience, knowledge and technologies of production. We hope that signing of the agreement will become the first contribution in this direction and we see positive perspectives of future development of our relationsíĒ, claimed Dmitriy Konash, Intelís Regional Director Russian & CIS.
