Latest edition of the International Scanning Probe Microscopy Image Contest launched |

| (Nanowerk News) To recognize the continuing contributions that Scanning Probe Microscopes (SPMs) have made to advances in Nanotechnology, the second edition of the International Scanning Probe Microscope Image Contest (SPMAGE' 09) has been announced to identify remarkable SPM images. An international jury, composed of outstanding researchers in the field of SPM as well as experts in dissemination and artists, will judge the submitted images on the basis of both scientific relevance and artistic appeal. The 5 winning images will receive the following prizes: | |

| Third Prize: 1250 € | |
| 2 Fourth Prizes: 2x600 € | |
| To enter the competition, participants must send an electronic SPM image using the submission page http://www.icmm.csic.es/spmage/submission.php. Participants must follow the contest rules as stated in http://www.icmm.csic.es/spmage/rules.php. The deadline for image submission is February, 15, 2009. | |
