Conference: Responsible Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

(Nanowerk News) Following the NANOMAT Conference June 15-17, 2009, there will be a one-day international conference on June 18 devoted to ethical, legal, social and environmental aspects of nanotechnology – "Responsible Nanoscience and Nanotechnology".
Target audience and participants
The vision for the conference is to further interdisciplinary dialogue between:
  • nanotechnologists and nano scientists
  • ethicists, philosophers, STS scholars and other social scientists
  • decision-makers with an interest in nanotechnology
  • Call for Papers
    Authors are invited to send an abstract in English for presentation. Contributions may relate to the conference topic in various ways, including:
  • ELSA research on nanoscience and nanotechnology
  • Research on health, environmental and safety aspects of nanotechnology
  • Contributions by practising nanoscientists and nanotechnologists as well as policy-makers
  • Submission of abstract
    Abstracts (approx. 500 words + name, affiliation and e-mail) to be sent no later than 20 April 2009 to Professor Roger Strand at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities (University of Bergen) [email protected]
    Notification of acceptance will be given no later than 27 April 2007.
    Please indicate if you would like to present a poster if the abstract is not selected for presentation at the conference.
