NanotechItaly - International Conference on nanotechnologies

(Nanowerk News) NanotechItaly is a international conference annually organized in order to promote and disseminate effectively nanotechnology and its application in the industry world and also to establish a useful link among the scientific and academic world and the entrepreneurs actors.
The Conference will take place on November 21st – 23rd 2012 at the Hotel NH Laguna Palace Convention Centre in Venice - Mestre.
The idea to launch Nanotechitaly was based on the awareness that even if activity and interest for nanotechnology in Italy is quite strong and involves considerable resources both in the public research and industry, there wasn’t an high level Conference on nanotechnology dealing with application and technology transfer.
Nanotechitaly aims at:
  • Giving a comprehensive picture of nanotechnology at a national level in relation to activities, perspectives and needs, in comparison to what is happening in other countries;
  • Presenting the latest developments and trends in terms of R&D, applications and governance worldwide;
  • Offering the opportunity for a debate amongst representatives of industry, public research and governmental bodies;
  • Stimulating initiatives of cooperation, coordination and support aimed to promote and make the efforts in this field more effective.
  • Started in 2008 from an idea of Veneto Nanotech, the Conference is jointly organized by the main actors of the national panorama in the nanotech field: the National Research Council, the Italian Association of Industrial Research, the Italian Institute of Technology and Veneto Nanotech. Besides them, a very broad range of other partners cooperate in the organization of this event. Among them: Federchimica and Assobiotec and Latemar/Polytechnic University of Turin.
    The Convention aims at illustrating the latest developments at world level and the nanotech trends in the key industrial sectors and the speakers that confirmed their attendance to the Conference are the best in the field of nanotechnologies.
    The three day event, organized by Veneto Nanotech , AIRI/Nanotec IT, , the National Research Council (CNR) and the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), will highlight how nanotechnologies can contribute to answer the challenges given by Horizon 2020 and by the Italian National Research Programme, and promote competitiveness and responsible innovation in a variety of strategic sectors shaping the future growth.
    The leading themes of the conference will be:
  • Advanced materials for improved use of resources: industrial manufacturing, processes and production; multifunctional, lightweight materials; multisector sustainable solutions (Surface technologies, CNT, grafene, nanodiamonds and other carbon based nanomaterials; nanocomposites; nanoporous materials and aereogels; nano-cyristalline metals, metal oxides; nanofibers; nanometrology, etc.)
  • Health Care: improving the lifelong health and wellbeing of all (In vitro and in vivo diagnostics; therapeutics and theranostic; personalised medicine; biostructures, regenerative medicine; biosensors; etc.)
  • Intelligent and connected world: developing next generation nanodevices and nanosystems (Nanoelectronics, organic electronics; magneto-electronics; storage and memory devices, MEMS/NEMS, nanophotonics, nano-robotics; etc.)
  • Energy and environment: greener products and processes for a sustainable development (Energy storage, saving, conversion and production; (environmental) sensing; water treatment and purification, site remediation, etc.)
  • Made in Italy: nanotechnology to support national leading hedge sectors, reshape traditional productions and preserve and protect the cultural heritage (Conservation of cultural heritage; safety & quality of food and other bio-based products; textiles, fashion & luxury goods; mechatronics, etc.)
  • Safety, ethics and societal impacts (Risk management; nanotoxicology; regulation & standards, etc.)
  • DEADLINE OF THE CALL FOR POSTER: 14TH SEPTMEBER 2012
    During the whole Convention, Italian and international researchers will display their own researches in the Expositive area to strengthen their network, increasing their visibility, getting in contact with several Institutions and the most prestigious Companies and Research Centres.
    The “networking/matchmaking event” will offer the possibility to all participants, including exhibitors, to establish contacts and potential collaborations during face-to-face meetings.
    Considering the growing interest and number of participants through all previous editions, NanotechItaly 2012 confirms to be the must-attend event for scientific quality of presentations, for the importance of its topics and for the participants’ skills.
