NRW Nano-Conference takes place for the 5th time in Dortmund

(Nanowerk News) On September 18 and 19, the NRW Nano-Conference takes place for the 5th time at the Congress Center Westfalenhallen Dortmund. The conference addresses experts and users of nanotechnology. The organizers are expecting more than 500 visitors from all over the world. This year, the conference focuses on four topics: "graphene", "nanotechnology for the environment", "nanophotonics," and "safety". On the first day, plenary sessions will give a general overview over these four areas. On the second day, four workshop sessions will deal with all four subjects in detail.
The panel and workshop session dealing with "nanotechnology for the environment" are organized by IVAM. They will demonstrate how nanotechnology helps to reduce environmental pollution and protect water and air. Efficient resources management, waste reduction and decreasing the use of chemicals are achievements where nanotechnology excels in comparison to conventional environmental technologies. Experts from science and industry will present trends in research and development and provide an insight into current and future applications.
As in the past years, the conference will be accompanied by an exhibition, which is also organized by IVAM. On two floors, more than sixty companies, research institutes and disseminators will present themselves. The exhibition is already fully booked.
Hosts of the 5th NRW Nano-Conference are the Ministry of Innovation of North Rhine-Westphalia, the City of Dortmund Economic Development Agency, the NanoMicro+Materials.NRW state cluster. IVAM Microtechnology Network and MST.factory dortmund are co-organizing the event.
