Webinar on the EU Definition of Nanomaterials - the impact of new publications

(Nanowerk News) NanoSight will host a webinar update on Wednesday 14th November to discuss the impact of recent EU and JRC publications on the EU's nanomaterial definition.
There has been much discussion on the Joint Research Centre of the EU defining the measurement of nanomaterials in a review entitled "Requirements on measurements for the implementation of the European Commission definition of the Term "nanomaterial".
NanoSight invites interested parties to attend a webinar led by international nanotechnology legislation and control expert Dr Denis Koltsov, and Dr Matteo Dalla Valle of the REACH Centre, an organization that provides the highest quality advice on the many regulatory, technical and commercial aspects of REACH (REACH is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances. The law came into force on 1 June 2007. ) and other chemical regulations. During the 30 minute interactive presentations, the speakers will:
  • Review the JRC methods document and discuss the key conclusions and the challenges presented.
  • Outline the EU's Second Regulatory Review and forthcoming legislation where it will have most impact, with particular emphasis on the REACh registration process.
  • Report on the USA perspective concerning regulation of nanomaterials. This will review topics from SENN2012 - International Congress on Safety of Engineered Nanoparticles and Nanotechnologies, held at the end of October in Helsinki.
  • As part of this interactive webinar series, attendees will be able to ask questions of the speakers. Register today at http://webinar.nanosight.com/.
