Technologies for Humans: The Robotics community meets in Karlsruhe

(Nanowerk News) For the first time, the largest conference for robotics and automation worldwide, the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2013, will take place at the Karlsruhe Congress Center from May 06 to 10, 2013.
The conference theme is “Anthropomatics – Technologies for Humans”. This reflects the importance of robotics and automation to improving humans’ quality of life and to fulfilling the needs of both industry and society. The program of ICRA 2013 will be presented by the organizers at a press conference on May 07.
Organized by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society at the KIT Institute of Anthropomatics, about 1,800 participants will meet at the conference’s technical presentations, discussions, workshops, and tutorials for five days.
Internationally renowned scientists in the areas of robotics and automation will present their research results and visions of the future. In addition, more than 60 exhibitors from industry and research will show their novelties.
On Friday, May 10, 2013, from 9:30 to 13:00, ICRA 2013 will be open for the interested public and school classes. Apart from selected exhibits, scientific topics will be explained in short and clear presentations.
