|What you will do Neuromodulation is a fast growing market due to strong needs in pain modulation and increasing aging-related disorders. Today's technologies do not offer the resolution needed to finetune stimulation of neuronal circuits, and thus therapy success rates are very variable. Imec is developing chips that allow interfacing with the nervous system with high resolution. In this postdoc project, the candidate will evaluate packaging and electrode options for scalable manufacturing of implantables. The candidate will screen available technologies, characterize hermetic sealing materials and explore novel electrode materials for the use in imec's neurotechnology projects.|
|Who you are - You have a PhD degree in material engineering, nanotechnology or similar - Experience with electrochemistry of microelectrodes is required - Experience with implantables/medical devices is a plus - You have published in high-ranking conference and/or journals in the field - Experience with managing and supervising team members; or with participating in national/international research projects is a plus. - We are looking your excellent analytical skills. - You speak and write English fluently (C1 CEFR level). - We value your good communication skills. - We appreciate your open mind and multi-disciplinary attitude. This postdoctoral position is funded by imec through KU Leuven. Because of the specific financing statute which targets international mobility for postdocs, only candidates who did not stay or work/study in Belgium for more than 24 months in the past 3 years can be considered for the position (short stays such as holiday, participation in conferences, etc. are not taken into account).
