(Nanowerk News) Bruker and University of Sheffield invite you to an interactive workshop focusing on mechanical and tribological testing on September 8, 2015 at the University of Sheffield, UK.
Oral presentations will introduce the key tribology fundamentals and practical challenges. Commonly applied testing methods will be outlined with case studies applicable to UK industry.
Delegates will see a range of tests in action in practical workshops that will include high temperature testing, lubricant testing, scratch, indentation and tribo-corrosion. Metrology methods to characterise and quantify wear will be discussed and demonstrated.
The event will be of interest to anyone involved in tribology and mechanical testing from R&D to production.
Focus sectors will include across automotive, aerospace, medical devices, implants, lubricants/seals, personal care and respective component supply chains. There will be ample opportunities for networking and to foster collaborations.
The Leonardo Centre for Tribology within the Department of Materials at University of Sheffield has comprehensive mechanical and tribological testing facilities and a wealth of problem solving expertise.
This meeting provides a unique opportunity to understand and apply mechanical testing methods, engage with tribology experts and develop collaborative partnerships. We do hope you will be able to participate.
