(Nanowerk News) The Second International Competition of Scientific Papers in Nanotechnology for Young Researchers to be held within the framework of the Second Nanotechnology International Forum RusNanoTech’2009, lead by the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies on October 6-8, 2009 in the International Exhibition Center of Moscow - “The Expocenter”.
Objective of the competition is to attract attention of scientific and business communities to achievements of young researchers in nanotechnology area.
A scientific paper prepared by participant together with coauthors, where his/her personal contribution to the paper is substantial, to be admitted to the competition.
Russian and international MSc and PhD students as well as researchers under 30 years old inclusively (by the moment of application submission) are welcome to participate in the competition.
Contents of scientific papers submitted to the competition have to comply with topics of the Forum’s scientific and technological sections. The paper should contain clear definition of issue, its urgency, scientific and practical values.
Papers connected with the educational issues and methodical materials can be submitted to the competition along with the scientific papers in accordance with the topics of scientific and technological sections. These papers will be considered within each of the sections they are applied to.
Participant’s application form and theses drawn up in full accordance with the requirements, as well as scientific advisor’s reference to personal participant’s contribution to the paper should be submitted to the Forum Secretariat by e-mail (with a mark “International Competition of Scientific Papers in Nanotechnology” in the subject of the letter) at [email protected] before June 26, 2009.
On completing of applications submission, all the applications and theses will be proceeded to the corresponding Commisions, which will evaluate scientific papers. The list of admitted participants will be published on the web-site of the Forum www.rusnanoforum.com not later than August 14, 2009.
Theses of scientific papers should be processed in accordance with the requirements as follows:
Text should be written in MS Word format with 14 Times New Roman type with single line spacing; top, bottom, and left margins – 2 cm, right margin – 1.5 cm. The volume of the electronic document should not exceed 3 print pages including tables, pictures and bibliography. Title of the report, authors’ names and name of affiliated organization should be pointed on the paper top.
Full or partial coverage of expenses may be provided for those authors, whose papers will be approved by the Forum’s Program Committee for further participation in the competition: international participants may be released from registration fee and/or hotel charges; domestic participants may be released from registration fee, hotel charges, and/or travel charges.
Scientific papers will be placed on the Forum as poster presentations. Participants to be informed about the requirements to the posters and the results of preliminary selection not later than September 1, 2009. The competition participants will have to attend the Forum personally and give presentation of their papers to Commissions. The Commissions will examine poster presentations to select three best papers in each section.
Awarding ceremony will be held at the Forum on October 8, 2009. Authors of the best papers will be awarded with honorable Forum’s Diploma. The competition winners in each section will be also awarded with prize money*:

1-st place - 50 000 Rub.

2-nd place – 40 000 Rub.

3-d place – 30 000 Rub.
