(Nanowerk News) The State Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) has been appointed the authorized organization representing the Russian Federation and executing the agreement with Israel for bilateral cooperation in industrial scientific-research and design-experimental work. The agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the State of Israel was signed today as part of the first Russian-Israeli Business Forum.
The Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor of the State of Israel has been designated the authorized organization for the Israeli government. That office together with RUSNANO will advance, support, and encourage collaborative projects in industrial scientific-research and design-experimental work. Projects will jointly develop innovative technologies for products or processes that will then be jointly managed, commercialized, and sold in global markets.
Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Khristenko signed the Agreement for Bilateral Cooperation in Industrial Scientific-Research and Design-Experimental Work on behalf of the Russian Federation and Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor of the State of Israel Benjamin Ben-Eliezer signed the document on behalf of the State of Israel.
“RUSNANO is one of the initiators of this bilateral agreement,” RUSNANO Deputy Chief Executive Officer Alexander Losyukov recounted. “President of Israel Shimon Peres and RUSNANO Chief Executive Officer Anatoly Chubais first discussed the possibility of such an agreement in March 2009. Cooperation between Russia and Israel in research and development will facilitate creation and sale of innovative products; that, in turn, will aid successful commercialization of the outcomes of industrial research and development by Russian and Israeli companies in global markets.”
