Fluxion Biosciences Announces Product Launch of BioFlux 1000Z System for Live Cell Imaging Under Flow

(Nanowerk News) Fluxion Biosciences, Inc. announced that the new BioFlux 1000Z system for live cell imaging will be launched at the 50th American Society for Cell Biology Annual Meeting to be held December 11-15, 2010 in Philadelphia, PA. The BioFlux 1000Z is the latest addition to the BioFlux product family of instruments for cellular analysis under controlled shear flow.
The BioFlux 1000Z provides an integrated solution for running live cell assays under flow using Fluxion's Well Plate Microfluidic™ devices. It features a fully-automated imaging workstation built around the industry-leading ZEISS AxioObserver microscope. New modules for this platform include Carl Zeiss' proprietary Definite Focus LED-based autofocus mechanism and PlasDIC module for differential internal contrast imaging. As with the original BioFlux 1000, the 1000Z system is driven by the BioFlux Montage software which ties together all of the hardware components. It features automated scanning routines and analysis solutions for BioFlux microfluidic flow experiments.
"We're pleased to launch this new addition to the BioFlux product family," commented Michael Schwartz, Program Director. "Carl Zeiss has a worldwide reputation for advanced optics and superb engineering. The combination of ZEISS microscopy hardware with Fluxion's Well Plate Microfluidic technology provides an advanced solution for cellular research and drug discovery."
The BioFlux 1000Z is available for immediate shipment. It targets critical applications in life science research and drug discovery, which include: cell adhesion, platelet adhesion, cell migration and invasion, biofilms, and stem cell research.
