Spinverse commercializes nanotechnology in Russia

(Nanowerk News) Spinverse organized content for the thematic stream on nanotechnology commerialization at the Rusnanotech’08 Nanotechnology International Forum in Moscow. This stream of invited speakers combined scientific, industrial and investment expertise to look at the opportunities and challenges of commercialising nanotechnology.
Presentations intended to advise researchers and companies about international best practices in nanotechnology commercialization and provided a valuable input to the discussion about how to ensure that nanoscience research translates to economic well-being.
Invited speakers included:

Mikko Alkio, State Secretary, Ministry of Employment and the Economy, Finland

Lerwen Liu, Founder, NanoGlobe Pte Ltd, Singapore

Peter Kruger, Head of Nanotechnology Working Group, Bayer, Germany

Markku Lämsä, Senior Technology Adviser, FinNano programme manager, Tekes, Finland

Vladimir Ermolov, Principal Engineer, Nano Sciences Laboratory, Nokia, Finland

Organized by Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (Rusnano) Rusnanotech’08 was held in Moscow, Russia from December 3-5, 2008 at the Central Exhibition Complex – “The Expocenter”, and discussed current trends in development of nanoindustry, identified needs and gaps of existing mechanisms and initiated a dialogue between science, public and decision-making. The conference covered topics relevant to the nanoscale processes and phenomena, nanomaterials and functional nanosystems based on nanomaterials, metrology, standardization and certification, social, economical and safety aspects of nanotechnology development and investments in nanoindustry.
