OH-PEG-OH (CAS NO: 25322-68-3) is a linear polyethylene glycol with two terminal hydroxyl groups, which are used as PEG raw materials. PEGs are prepared by polymerization of ethylene oxide. The degree of polymerization determines its molecular weight and is calculated by dividing the MW by 44 (44 is the molecular mass of one repeating unit). It has a molecular structure of H-(O-CH2-CH2)n-OH. Polyethylene glycol is used in chromatography, histology, microscopy, and for special biochemical purposes.
