The nanotechnology engineering undergraduate program at UPB Medellín.
During the first three years, students receive basic interdisciplinary training in physics, chemistry, biology, molecular biology, mathematics, and computer science. Many of the courses are followed along with students from these core disciplines. In addition, a number of courses address issues specific to the nano-area.
This options provides an introduction to the processes involved in the fabrication of nanoscale integrated circuits and to the computer aided design (CAD) tools necessary for the engineering of large scale system on a chip. By selecting this option, students will learn about fault tolerance in nanoscale systems and gain an understanding of quantum phenomena in systems design.
This option provides an introduction to the principles of electronics, electromagnetics and photonics as they apply at the nanoscale level. By selecting this option, students will learn about the process involved in the fabrication of nanoscale structures and become familiar with the computer aided design (CAD) tools necessary for analyzing phenomena at these very high levels of miniaturization.
The Nanoengineering Option provides broad skills suitable for entry to the nanotechnology professions, combining core Electrical Engineering and Physics courses with additional instruction in biochemistry and chemistry, and specialized instruction in nanoelectronics, nanobioengineering, and nanofabrication.
Students entering this option will be exposed to the exciting and emerging field of nano and functional materials. Subject areas covered include electronic, optical and magnetic materials, nanomaterials and their applications, nanostructured molecular sieves, nano and functional materials processing and fabrication. Employment opportunities exist in several sectors of Canadian industry, such as microelectronic/optoelectronic device fabrication, MEMS processing and fuel cell development.
The University of Basel is the first Swiss university to provide a programme in nanosciences. From the very beginning of studies, the interdisciplinary curriculum in nanosciences combines the three disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics into the word of nano systems. After three years a BSc with a Major in Nanosciences can be awarded. Three semesters later the degree of an MSc in Nanosciences becomes possible.
Der Einfach-Bachelor-Studiengang mit dem Profil Nanowissenschaften besteht aus dem Kernfach Physik und dem Nebenfach Physik, beide mit dem Profil Nanowissenschaften.
Starting Fall 2008/Winter 2009, students can enroll in the only process learning driven Nanoscience program in North America. Courses offered are a B.Sc. Minor in Nanoscience and a B.Sc. Concentration in Nanoscience.

The Department of NanoEngineering offers undergraduate programs leading to the B.S. degrees in NanoEngineering and Chemical Engineering.
The BS degree program in Molecular Engineering offers undergraduates a cutting-edge engineering curriculum built on a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. Courses are designed to develop quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills; to introduce engineering analysis of physical, chemical, and biological systems; and to address open-ended technological questions across a spectrum of disciplines.
At Guelph we have created a unique approach to nanoscience studies. Fundamental science course are combined with specially designed courses in nanoscience covering material that would previously only be found in graduate programs.
Zum Wintersemester 2009/10 startet der Studiengang Bachelor of Science Nanostrukturwissenschaften.
This program leads to the award of a Bachelor of Science in Nanotechnology over four years of full-time study, with Honours for students who perform with merit. At present, the principal entry point into this degree is at Stage 1 level. Students are normally expected to complete each stage before proceeding to the next stage. A total of 192 units of credit (UOC) must be completed for the award of this degree.
The degree follows the same syllabus as the BSc Physics programme with an introduction to nanoscience and other cutting-edge research provided by the Frontiers in Physics module. In year two you will again pursue the same core as for the BSc Physics course but will also take the Force and Function at the Nanoscale, and Molecular Bio- and Nanophysics modules (which replace two of the optional modules of the core course).
This course offers a nanotechnology single major as part of the Bachelor of Biotechnology program.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) program provides students with the opportunity to pursue an independent research project in an area of interest under the supervision of an academic staff member.
The Innovation Management Dual Majors prepare students for the growing focus of Biotechnology organizations and University/Public Sector based research groups on seeking markets for their scientific outputs.
The BSc. Nanoscience program is a German language program and can be completed within three years.
The MSc Nanoscience program is a German language program and can be completed after the BSc program.
Electronic Engineering with Nanotechnology offers engineers a firm grounding in conventional electronics, plus the specialist skills at the electronics/physics interface required to work at the forefront of modern nanoscale device fabrication. These programmes enable you to build on a common foundation in electronics by introducing specialist modules from the second year. These modules cover nanoscale electronic devices, optoelectronics, nanofabrication and advanced experimental methods.
