The course is designed in such a way that students can explore in depth the application of nanotechnology to biomedical areas. The applications include new implant technologies, regenerative engineering, new nanomedicines to combat cancer and drug resistance, targeted medicines for treatment with reduced side effects, diagnostic technologies using nanomaterials etc.
The Centre for Nano Science and Technology (CNST) aims at initiating and pursuing research activities in areas related to nanotechnology and nanoscale phenomena, for various applications at Masters level and collaborative research with other universities, institutes and industries.
The primary aim of establishing the Centre for Converging Technologies (CCT) is to produce high quality research in the four streams of Nanotechnology, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, Information and Communication Technology, Cognitive & Neuroscience so as to create new scientific methodologies, engineering paradigms, and industrial products. The focus will be on key areas relevant to the desired rapid growth of the Indian economy.
