Oxford Nanotechnology Summer School 2010

(Nanowerk News) Oxford University has announced the dates for its 2010 Nanotechnology Summer School. The Summer School Programme offers five one-day courses designed to introduce participants to the advances that are being made in the rapidly developing field of nanotechnology. The courses focus on nanotechnology for energy, biomedical nanotechnology and nanosafety.
These courses are aimed at professionals working in a wide range of organisations and sectors: commercial, government and academia. Delegates will gain an understanding of recent advances in nanotechnology, together with its impacts and the challenges facing industry and society.
No prior knowledge is assumed although an understanding of physical science will be beneficial. Courses are offered individually, as a two-day nanomedicine training course or may be taken as a one-week summer school.
Summer School Program
Nanotechnology for energy and carbon management: 5 July
New developments in bionanotechnology: 6 July
Nanomedicine - diagnostics: 7 July
Nanomedicine - therapeutics: 8 July
Safety of manufactured nanoparticles: 9 July
