Conference proceedings for 'INRS Nano 2011' now available as free download

(Nanowerk News) In April 2011, in Nancy, INRS organised a scientific conference devoted to the risks associated with nanomaterials and nanoparticles.
The "Nano 2011" conference was the first of a cycle of international conferences organised by INRS on occupational health research. It brought together, in Nancy on 5, 6 and 7 April, researchers, experts, and OSH specialists from different backgrounds. In all, more than 465 people, from 22 countries, seized this opportunity to share their most recent knowledge and their research needs in the field of occupational risks associated with nanoparticles and nanomaterials.
From the 6 keynote lectures, 24 oral presentations, and 80 poster presentations, it is clear that significant progress has been made in knowledge of the toxicity of certain manufactured nanoparticles, measurement and assessment of exposure to nanoaerosols, emission control, and risk assessment. Of the presentations, 11 were the fruit of work conducted by INRS or by INRS in co-operation with other bodies.
