Taiwan to launch consortium to promote nanotechnology

(Nanowerk News) Taiwan's National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL) will launch a platform on Jan. 22 to further promote nanotechnology in the private and academic sectors, according to the organizers.
"The Nano Device Consortium will serve as an innovation bridge between the industry and the academia," the NARL's National Nano Device Laboratories (NDL) said in a recent statement.
Based in the northern city of Hsinchu, the consortium will share the facilities at the NDL, the organizers said.
Industry heavyweights, scholars and experts are expected to attend the opening ceremony on Jan. 22. At the ceremony, the future development and trends of materials science and engineering will be unveiled, the organizers said.
