The state’s nanotechnology leaders, including the Washington Technology Center, Avogadro Partners, LLC, the University of Washington, Washington State University and Battelle’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, with seed funding sponsored by Senator Maria Cantwell, have come together to launch the Washington Nanotechnology Initiative (WNI).
WINN was founded to establish and promote nanotechnology in Western Austria and to provide the infrastructure necessary to develop this innovation potential.
The Western Australian Nanochemistry Research Institute (WANRI) is a State Centre of Excellence for promoting collaborative research in the field of nanochemistry within Western Australia. Founded in 2005, WANRI is a joint unincorporated venture of Curtin University of Technology, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia.
A project funded by the European Commission to encourage young women to consider studies and pursue careers in this new scientific field (providing role models and mentoring programs), attract youth to Nano, network and empower women scientists working in Nano-Science at European level, stimulate female scientists to participate in EU programmes, mobilize stakeholders in favour of gender equality in scientific research and stimulate the science-society dialog.
