The field of particle sizing and characterization is advancing rapidly and on many fronts. The same holds true for Particle & Particle Systems Characterization . Through the years PPSC has become the leading journal of its kind and the showcase for the cutting edge of theory and research.
Publisher: Springer
ISSN: 1743-8977 (online)
Particle and Fibre Toxicology is interested in receiving manuscripts which report new scientific data, hypotheses and reviews on the toxicological effects of particles and fibres. The journal functions as a forum for scientific debate and communication between toxicology and disciplines that develop (nano)particles for future applications.
Publisher: Taylor & Francis
ISSN: 0272-6351 (print); 1548-0046 (online)
Particulate Science and Technology addresses all aspects of science and engineering related to particles and particle systems from millimeter to nanometer sizes.

This journal establishes a dedicated channel for physicists, material scientists, chemists, engineers and computer scientists who are interested in photonic crystals and photonic band gaps. The Journal will help shed light on the latest developments in this growing field of science that will see the emergence of faster telecommunications and ultimately computers that use light instead of electrons to connect components. The Journal features mainly original research work in experiment, theory and applications.

Physica E contains papers and invited review articles on the fundamental and applied aspects of physics in low-dimensional systems, including semiconductor heterostructures, mesoscopic systems, quantum wells and superlattices, two-dimensional electron systems, and quantum wires and dots. Both theoretical and experimental contributions are invited. Topics suitable for publication in this journal include spin related phenomena, optical and transport properties, many-body effects, integer and fractional quantum Hall effects, single electron effects and devices, and other novel phenomena.

In 2004 a new era in material science was opened: the era of graphene or, more generally, of two-dimensional materials. Graphene is the strongest and the most stretchable known material, it has the record thermal conductivity and the very high mobility of charge carriers. It demonstrates many interesting fundamental physical effects and promises a lot of applications, among which are conductive ink, terahertz transistors, ultrafast photodetectors and bendable touch screens. In 2010 Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics "for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene". The two volumes Physics and Applications of Graphene - Experiments and Physics and Applications of Graphene - Theory contain a collection of research articles reporting on different aspects of experimental and theoretical studies of this new material.

Plasmonics publishes peer-reviewed articles that both advance and report on the knowledge and practice of the interactions of free-metal electrons, Plasmons. Coverage includes theory, physics, and applications of surface plasmons in metals, and rapidly emerging areas of nanotechnology, biophotonics, sensing, biochemistry and medicine. The journal covers the theory, synthesis and optical properties of noble metal nanostructures, patterned surfaces, continuous or grated surfaces and devices. Applications include surface-enhanced spectroscopic properties, such as Raman scattering or fluorescence, as well developments in techniques such as surface plasmon resonance and near-field scanning optical microscopy.
